She's An Artist

I know, I know....all parents marvel at the brilliance that is their own offspring. Having said that, I truly believe this little lady (although she looks more like a boy in this photo) is destined for greatness. There's not a moment of the day that you won't find her without pen and paper in hand. This chick loves to create!

This photo should give you new respect for me, the one who has to try each and every morning to convince this chica to do something with her hair before school. Oh boy, that's always a rough part of my day! And, since it's almost Summer and the boys don't wear their shirts sometimes she's taken the attitude that wearing her shirt is "optional".

I love every single little masterpiece....I wish I could keep them all. Just watch out, "Abby Hill Abigail" is going to climb some mountains for sure!

1 Fish, 2 Fish, Green Fish, Blue Fish

After a long winter and really missing one of our favorite places, we loaded the kiddies up and headed out for our first fishing trip of the year.

This guy is the most faithful fisherman of all. He didn't leave his dad's side all day long.

I love that Isaac is so sweet to Abby. He enjoys teaching her new things and being her big brother (most of the time).

I love living in the mountains and having such beautiful places like this to spend our days.

Every little girl should have a pink barbie pole to go fishing with....

He can cast his own pole, just look at him in action!!!!

The first catch of the day!

That's one good looking trout Isaac!

What an awesome dad Justin is!

Abby thought the sandy beach was the best part of the day!

Everyone had to inspect the fish.

The best part was that I didn't have to touch a thing. Thank you sweetie!

It looks like a "BIG ONE"

Even mom caught a fish. More like, I looked over at the pole sitting next to me as it was sliding into the water. Lucky I guess :)

On Our "TO DO" List Tomorrow....

Look What I Did...

I took this...

And made this! I really did it! It was the easiest thing ever! No more store bought jam for our family!

And I had the best little "jam makers" ever help me!

Flashback Friday

I found these treasures hiding on a lost memory card. I look at them and wonder: where exactly does the time go?

I've Been Meaning To Tell You....

I REALLY loved this book....I read it in like three days I think. And, as you can tell by the "What's on my nightstand" icon at the right of your screen, I generally don't read anything in 3 days or even 30. The movie was good too. There was just something delightful about it, a good read for sure.

Number Thirty -Five

1992, Very Likely My Best Birthday Ever.
Just moments after this photo was taken, the doorbell rang. Sitting on my porch was a dozen roses, box of chocolates and a new watch. From Justin. Why is this such a big deal? First, I had never gotten anything from a boy on my birthday. Second, it was my first set of roses. THIRD, I had no idea that he really even knew I existed. He was away at college (yes, I was only 16 and still in high school) and had made arrangements to make this happen. I felt like I could fly. He came home that weekend and tried to teach me how to drive his red mustang. I failed, almost wrecking his car in the process. That gave us both a great laugh. It was the start of a special friendship that spanned nearly 8 years before we took our first real date. I love this day.

End Of A Great Season!
