The Fall

One of the many things I love about Justin is his excellent taste in film. He is always pasing on the "good stuff" to me. He had watched this great movie "The Fall" a few nights before and got a copy for me to watch Saturday night. The sets were amazing! It was filmed in over 18 diffrent countries. It is unlike any movie I have ever seen. you should check it out...I find it to be a modern day classic.

All Is Quiet On The Hill Front

Well...not really, truth is I have writer's block. Oh there is plenty to write about I am sure. Just no time to do it. I will post more soon. Between work, home, PTA, Kindergarten, Preschool, Primary, Provo Senior Games, National Assisted Living Week....I am all worn out!

Hill Kid Quote #5

Yesterday while shopping in Target, Isaac looked at me and said very earnestly: "Mom, I think you should have another baby so that I can play with it and take care of it, then when it gets bigger we can just sell it." I looked at him and replied, "Maybe we should just sell you and get a new baby." Of course he knew I was kidding. I then explained to him why selling a baby is a big NO NO....He is at a stage that he really loves little babies. It was the sweetest thing I had ever seen when Celeste and Kris were here with their twins. Isaac practically set up his room as their make-shift nursery. At one point when we were babysitting, he tool both boppys in his room, put on a Baby Einstein and insisted that Jaxson and Shaun both be on his bed. I laughed so hard to see him tend both of the boys putting each binky in every 3 seconds. Babies seem to bring out something really sweet in our little warrior Ethan as well. Abby on the other hand, could take them or leave them. I always say what a good thing it is that she came last. She doesn't like to share Justin and I with anyone. I have long had the feeling that there still might be one more little spirit waiting to join us...Just would disagree, especially since there have been permanent measures taken to assure our reproductive years are OVER! A new best friend

Hill Kid Quote #4

"Dad"...."Yes Ethan." "We are growing hair (he means Isaac & him) and soon we will be dads." Ethan says as he is looking at the peach fuzz on his arms because we all know that all dads have hairy arms! Funny what kids think of. Also, when asked to write his name recently, Ethan sat down at the table and began to write the name Isaac on his paper. Kind of sad, poor kid is in an identity crisis and needs to "find himself".

The Splits

This was just the cutest thing ever! Abby taught herself to do the splits while Jus and I were home for lunch the other day. This cute girl never stops making us smile!

Camping (Kind Of)

We were kind of lame and went camping (kind of) for Labor Day. That is we went to Derrin and Nicole's camp site up Hobble Creek Canyon and pretended we were camping but didn't stay the night. Thanks to those guys for letting us tag along. The kids had a blast gathering fire wood, roasting marshmallows and playing in the tent with their cousins.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

We spent the last full day of summer with wind, rain and even a little bit of hail. We made the most of it by playing outside in our rain gear for about 30 seconds, and then the kids got too cold. Justin and I LOVED it. We slept with our bedroom window open the night before. The pitter patter of the raindrops reminded us of those stormy Missouri days. It only rains like that here a couple of times a year.

A Boating We Will Go

We took advantage of what looks like it may be the last warm weekend here in Utah last weekend. It was such a great day with our nanny Aubrey and her family. Isaac was so amazingly brave on the three person tube! Ethan and Abby had a great time as well. Buying a boat and going out on the lake every week is for sure on our to do list!

We just got the long awaited family photos back from the Hill reunion. I think they turned out great. After all, it's not east getting 49 people in the same photo and keeping 23 little wigglys still. I love this family and feel so grateful to be a part of them!

Irrigation

I wish I had gotten a photo today, but our sweet neighbor and friend becky Phillips invited our kids over to play in the irrigation water at her parents house today. Growing up in Missouri, the concept of irrigation was completly forgien to me, but hey...we are always up for new things. Our kids had a blast playing in the water with all of their friends. I love all of the sweet people in our new neighborhood, especially Becky Phillips. She is such an inspiration to me. Thank you for making us feel so loved and including our family in so many of your fun ways! You're one in a million!

Hill Kid Quote #3

Well, this one is more like a conversation. Many of you know, but we believe our Isaac to be very spiritually in tune. He has often said things that astound both Justin and I even as a little baby. I was putting the boys to bed the other night after reading scriptures and saying our prayers. After prayer Isaac said to me, "Mom I hope it is okay that I just said my own prayer in my head." I reassured him that was a good thing. Then he continued, "I asked Heavenly Father when he is coming back to Earth and he said to me, Isaac you are a very special boy, I am always on the Earth with you." Pretty insightful when you are 5. I then kissed them goodnight and went to Abby's room to relieve Justin of her very lengthy bed time routine as he had put her to bed several nights before that. Isaac then comes to Abby's room and stands in the doorway and says, "Guys, what does it feel like when Heavenly Father is with you?" I asked him what he thought it felt like. He said, "Well, I think it is when your heart feels are warm and comfy inside like mine feels now." May we all remember that warm and comfy feeling we can receive when we are living close to our Savior.
