Recipe of the Week

My Very Own Corn Chowder

WHAT? Snow in Utah...today? Yes I say. That made it a SOUP day.
We even skipped soccer, too weak to braze the cold. LAME....I know..
It's 80 degrees in Missouri for peat's sake!

Start with 2T chicken bullion, 2 C water, 3 peeled and thinly sliced potato pieces, 1 chopped stalk of celery, 1 t chopped onion and 1/4 C bacon bits.
Bring to a boil until potatoes and celery are tender.
Add 3 C Corn and cook for 5-7 minutes.
Add 4-6 cups milk (depending on desired thickness)
Whisk in 2T flour and stir.
Simmer about 10 minutes.

It's someone's favorite.....

Yesterday was a perfect day for a baby shower....
My friend Shannon is expecting her baby Jack soon.
It's been 11 years of lots of ups and downs to get this little guy here and I couldn't be more thrilled for her and hubby Brett!

This is the "monkey business" I've been working on for Jack's Jungle themed Nursery.

Meet My New Obsession.....

His name is Tim Tam...we met just last night at a Target Store. It was a chance meeting actually, he was on sale so I decided to give him a whirl! He's from Australia, and I can't keep my eyes or my hands off him now. I introduced him to hubby. I'm not sure they are fond of one another yet. Oh, but you just wait!

I had to put my other flames on the back burner.....

The Verdict Is In.....

4 more weeks of THIS....
and I should be good as new, well almost.
Maybe I will be able to attend a few yoga classes.
That marathon may have to wait for next year.
I am incredibly thankful for this pain of a machine that I sometimes wake up tangled in at night or am annoyed by some irritating alarm that goes of.
Modern medicine is a sheer wonder I tell ya!
Please excuse the poor pedicure...that needs to be remedied ASAP!

This week I was suppose to take a fun girl's trip to hike Delicate Arch in the middle of the night....Mr. Dr. Foot Man put a kabosh on those plans
(with reason...I do want to get better)!
But I can't wait to go back.
