Just When I Thought This Was ALL Behind Me....

Bad News arrives....
I went to see the surgeon who cunningly fixed this mess and put it back together again.
A month ago the x-rays looked fabulous!
This week there is evidence of a non-union in the fracture in my left foot.
Which means I am walking on a broken foot!
The culprit? He thinks a nasty infection that I've been fighting for 3 months that despite every antibiotic out there, won't seem to go away. This has kept the bone from healing.
The possible solution? New medication....
...AND daily bone stimulator treatments from a machine that costs $3500!
AHHHHHHH!
Please pray it's works!
If not, I'll be back in surgery.
I just want to do yoga again and run and play and hike and ride my bike!

Who Says Brushing Your Teeth Isn't A Blast?

If you think he looks like he's having WAY TOO MUCH FUN...
You could be right!I have spent weeks...no months....actually maybe even years trying to convince this silly boy that having toothpaste all over your face doesn't mean that you have brushed your teeth really good. There have been many a morning recently that he will brush his teeth and then use the sleeve of his shirt as a means to wipe away all the bubbly paste! I guess I shouldn't complain, he's the only one of the Hill children that doesn't seem to get cavities!

Tribute

I'll be attending a funeral today for a very good friend's brave son who lost his life while serving our country in Afghanistan last week....

that captures the pure greed of the human race and total disregard for lives on land and in the sea as well as the true determination and commitment of a few choice human beings who risked everything to put a stop to such evil. It made me feel like I should be doing so much more in the world.

Blue Cheese Burgers

Take 1 really cute husband an put him at the grill....
(this is essential to making a killer burger)
2 lbs. ground beef
1 container crumbled blue cheese
2 T Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 C sliced green onions
Mix together well and form into patties

March Comes In Like A Lion.....

We woke up Thursday to beautiful Spring weather and all the winter's snow a mere memory.
I didn't even wear a coat that day to work.
By mid-day it was freezing and sleeting....
Then just this morning, we awoke to a ton of snow.....
No electricity at the community and a little bit of chaos.
Thanks to Super Dad, who decided to rescue the kiddies
(who were home from school)
and take them on what we hope is one LAST Sledding Trip of the Year!

Best Girls EVER!!!!

Today is my best friend's birthday.....
We all met for breakfast to wish her a happy day!
These ladies are the greatest...and they all belong to a book club.
I didn't say MY book club, because I only show up once a month and eat their treats...
but, they STILL keep inviting me!
Thanks ladies for never giving up on me!

Flashback Friday

2002 Winter Olympics

My Sweetie and I at a concert at the medals plaza. I remember it was SO COLD that night! Just a couple of weeks after this picture was taken we discovered there was a little baby (Isaac) growing in my tummy.

My good friend Judy Seegmiller who is an inspiration to me.
She wrote this great book about her marathon runner husband's struggle with early onset of Alzheimer's.
She's done so much to help me understand the disease through the years and her knowledge has made me better at helping others.
My company sponsored her as a 2002 torch carrier.

Many a Summer I spent at my grandparents resort at the Lake of the Ozarks
as a kid slurping up that stuff!

This gorgeous place I get to call home....

and these outstanding women I get to call my colleagues & friends.....
and the fact that I am nearly 10 years their senior with three more kids than any of them and I managed to keep up...yeah for Mindy!
