9 years ago today....

I married the most fantastic man on the planet! A man that always protects and sticks up for me, one that always laughs at my silly jokes, keeps my feet warm at night, brightens the lives of our three children, and a man that understands me more that anyone else (and loves me despite all of his understanding). This beautiful day in Maui will forever be imprinted in my mind and heart as the best moment in time! I love you.....

Funny Hill Kid Quote #6

Thank Heavens for makeup, especially lip liner (it's my lifesaver). Early this morning, Ethan came in the bathroom as I was getting ready to go into the office. He sat up on the counter and looked at me with disgust. He wondered why in the world I was using a pencil on my lips. I told him it makes me look prettier. Then, when I was finished he replied, "No, mom. It makes your face look new again." I am grateful for my bag of magic makeup and the ability to "look new" every day!

CRUSH

After coming home from school the other day, Isaac informed me that two girls at his school have a crush on him. When I asked him how he knows this he replied, "Oh mom, it's easy because when they talk to me, their cheeks get all rosy." Silly me, I had no idea that was a requirement. I have a lot to learn about these "mini" romances I guess.

Weekend Update

It was a great weekend! On Friday, Justin had to take the toilet in our master bathroom completely off. It has been clogged for the past several days and after augering it several times, there was no result. Once it was off, we discovered a mini shampoo bottle wedged in the very bottom of the toilet. The last time this happened, two toothbrushes were the culprit. Thanks to Russell and Dana for keeping an eye on the little people while we were taking care of this. On Saturday, I went to my first ever Yoga Class. It was so awesome, thanks to Becky inviting me and Jen's talent & insight! I feel incredibly sore now, but what a great feeling! Becky and I were able to catch the morning session of conference on the big screen while this kiddos played. I spent the rest of the weekend with my sweet family and then ended a great weekend by having the opportunity to go to the Conference Center in Salt Lake and see the last session. I was so touched by Elder Cook's talk. Over the past few months, I have gotten to know Sister Yates, the widow he spoke of in his talk. She has moved two of her family members to Jamestown in the past few months. I met her just before my baptism. At a time that I was struggling, she gave some of the best advice to me that I have ever heard. I am so grateful for tender mercies like these that keep me going each and every day!

Mrs. Piggy

I have been unusually quiet lately, having a difficult time blogging about much of anything. Isaac has given me a new subject. Notice this post was not titled Funny Hill Kid Quote. That is because I am still trying to figure out whether it is funny or not. He came home from school last week and proceeded to tell us that he had managed to make his entire class laugh today. "Well mom, we were working on our pig worksheets and I raised my hand and said to my teacher: wouldn't it be funny if your name was Mrs. Piggy instead of Mrs. Headman." In horror I asked him what she said to that. "Oh mom, she said she liked her own name better and then the entire class laughed." This made me sad. Isaac has absolutely no idea that what he just said was incredibly rude to his teacher. I wasn't sure how to tell him because I know he has never seen the real Mrs. Piggy in his life. I truly hope his teacher understands that he would never say something like that to hurt her feelings. UGHHHH!
