Run Like The Wind Bullseye

The boys got to run in the BYU Autumn Classic today!
It was their first ever cross country meet!
You can imagine I was pretty stoked to see our little guys get out there and run like the wind!

BYU Track girls (Isaac was crushing a little)

Who wouldn't LOVE to run on this track every day with beautiful Timp in the background?

She's dreaming of her future as a track star. Maybe?

That's one determined boy!

Racing to the finish line!!!!

On your marks....

Isaac's race starts...then I race back to the finish line to see Ethan....

He did it!

I see a hint of a smile on Isaac's face

Almost there...

Way to go!!!!

Pixie Dust and Farmers Markets

Little Lady got a sweet new "do" this past week.
I like to call it her "pixie" haircut.
She immediately looked in the mirror after her style and said to Justin:
"Jinkies dad, I look like Velma"
As in, Velma from Scooby Doo.
It must be the red glasses!
I just think she's cute as a button.
And check out the awesome headband I found for her at the Farmer's Market.
Don't worry, I already have my sewing machine out perfecting my own "Mindy Version" of this creation. It was one of many great and "crafty" finds last Saturday.
Not to mention the delicious artisan breads, fresh produce and yummy treats! You should check it out!

Flashback Friday

This was a a great day in my memory of moments.
Issac was 6 months old and my mom had come out from Missouri to stay with us for a month.
We met Justin's parents at a park and had a picnic one windy May day.
It was special to share our sweet baby boy with both sets of grandparents.
The picture of Isaac with Justin's dad above is one of my favorites.
I love that both Justin's mom and dad are such tender and amazing grandparents to all of their grandchildren.
I love that my mom was willing and able to come out and spend so much time with us.
My life is so blessed to have moments like these.....

Heaven

We were riding in the car on Sunday when suddenly our Tweeter proclaimed:
"Mom, when you were a little girl I was in heaven watching you."

That must be the sweetest thing I have ever heard.

I Mean Who Knew?

That these boys peel potatoes.
I wonder what other tricks they have up their sleeves....

What's the best part you ask?

They take payment in the form of sugar cubes.
EXCELLENT!

A Darn Good Time!

One of the million things I love about my job is the great events I get to plan each month. There's nothing in the world like seeing the happiness in the eyes of our residents and their family members and to know that you are helping to create moments that they will never forget. Yesterday we kicked off National Assisted Living Week by holding an old fashioned carnival. I think we were all blown away by the attendance and family participation. This week is an extra special time for us to express our thanks to the greatest generation. We'll be doing fun things like horse and buggy rides, chili cook-off (I'm a contestant), fashion show, Quilt Display and even a baby photo contest! Look HERE for updates on what we doing all week long. It should be a great time.
I know, I know all of you are jealous because I have the best job ever!
